BLM Automatic Clutch partnered with an engineering firm contracted by the U.S. Military to manufacture the 6", F60H clutch highlighted here. It was designed for use on a 21 horse power, 3600 RPM/1500 Idle chiller. BLM was responsible for all of the required work, which included the material sourcing and precision manufacturing. BLM's solution was chosen by this engineering firm as the best fit for their design as it exhibited maximum drive capability in a limited work space. State-of-the-art CNC lathes, milling machinery, and finishing equipment were utilized to mill and turn gray iron to the required profile, holding a tight ± 0.003" tolerance throughout. The unit was assembled, and subjected to a parkerizing phosphate plating process for corrosion and wear resistance, leaving the part with a black finish

800 units were produced in a 6 month period and shipped to the customer.
